Our NDIS Approach

Having the right support around you can make all the difference. At A1 Community Care Providers, we take the time to truly listen, understand your goals, and walk alongside you as you build a life that feels independent, supported, and connected.

As a registered NDIS provider in the heart of Newcastle, we work closely with you and the people who matter most in your world to create a support plan that genuinely reflects who you are and what you want to achieve. Your goals guide us. Your preferences shape the way we deliver care.

Whether it’s gentle assistance with personal care, help with daily routines, support to develop new skills, or encouragement to get out and enjoy your community, our team shows up with kindness, reliability, and genuine care.

We believe NDIS support should never feel clinical or transactional. It should feel empowering. It should build confidence. It should create opportunities. And above all, it should respect your choice and control.

The values that guide our NDIS supports:

01.

Quality & Compliance:

We maintain high professional standards and align with NDIS requirements so you can feel safe and confident in your supports.

02.

Dignity & Respect:

You are at the centre of every decision. We honour your routines, your voice, and your independence.

03.
100% Transparency in Communication:

We keep things clear and honest. You’ll always understand what supports are being delivered and how your funding is being used.

04.
Building Independence

Our focus is not just support for today, but growth for tomorrow. We work with you to strengthen skills and confidence wherever possible.

05.

Funding

Understanding NDIS Funding

NDIS funding supports eligible Australians under 65 who are living with a permanent and significant disability. It provides a personalised budget to cover “reasonable and necessary” supports that help you build independence, connect with your community, and work towards your goals.

Funded by the Australian Government, the NDIS can assist with services such as therapy, equipment, home modifications, and support workers — all tailored to your individual needs.

What makes NDIS funding unique?

  • Personalised Plans
Your funding is based on your own goals, circumstances, and the supports you need to live your best life.
  • Reasonable and Necessary Supports
The NDIS funds supports that relate directly to your disability, offer value for money, and are likely to make a positive difference in your daily life. It does not cover everyday living expenses like rent or groceries.
  • Three Support Budgets
Funding is generally divided into three areas:
      1. Core Supports – help with everyday activities
      2. Capital Supports – larger items such as equipment or home modifications
      3. Capacity Building Supports – services that build skills and independence over time
  • Flexible Management Options
You can choose how your funding is managed — self-managed, plan-managed, or managed by the NDIA — giving you choice and control over your supports.

What can NDIS funding cover?

Support may include assistance with daily living, transport to access the community, everyday consumables, therapy services, employment supports, training, and more — depending on your individual plan.

For more detailed information, you can visit the official NDIS website or contact them directly on 1800 800 110.
